Welcome to Maplewood Counseling & Wellness

Authenticity, Connection, and Compassion

At Maplewood Counseling & Wellness, we are dedicated to supporting individuals on their journey towards mental and emotional well-being. Here, our number one goal is to provide a safe and inclusive space for you to explore, heal, and grow. At the center of your care here is individual counseling with a licensed therapist, and a commitment to honoring your unique needs and strengths. We specialize in providing online therapy and support for adults, with a focus on serving queer and neurodivergent individuals, and those navigating religious trauma or seeking sex therapy.

Therapy is a relationship.

It's important for you to know who you're starting this relationship with.

Emily Hansen, MSW, LICSW

she/they

Originally from the greater Seattle area, I've spent my life divided between living in Washington and Utah, the two states I am licensed in. The current round of back-and-forth has landed me in Utah with my partner and a toddler who keeps us constantly on our toes.

Some of my identities include queer, neurodivergent, mom, cancer survivor, ex-Mormon, and massive nerd. As a therapist, I value creating a space where we can both bring our authentic selves to every session, and find connection and healing in radical self-compassion.

In addition to the toddler, I have two dogs and a cat and take being a pet-mom very seriously. Their names are Nimbus, Rosie, and Oliver. As we see each other over Telehealth, you will likely get the chance to meet them as my (occasionally reluctant) co-therapists.
